The length of the bars denotes confidence intervals as determined by bootstrap tests, ellipses indicate the peak positions of the LRS. Upward arrows indicate the paternal parent (Ler) as the source of the increasing allele, downward arrows the maternal parent (Bur). Bars without arrows stand for QTL for which the parental effect was ambiguous. Dotted bars stand for QTL with LRS values below the genome-wide 95% significance level which were included for their reproducibility (see text, Table 2 and Additional File 4).
