VvMYB5bL loses its ability to physically interact with the bHLH transcription factor VvMYC1 in yeast. Yeast two-hybrid experiments have been performed by co-transformation with VvMYB5bR or VvMYB5bL proteins fused to GAL4 Activation Domain, and VvMYC1 fused to GAL4 DNA Binding Domain. Transformed yeasts were selected on SD-Leu-Trp- medium and tested for LacZ activation. β-Galactosidase activity results are the mean of three measurements of three independent yeast clones. Negative two-hybrid control refers to the control provided by the manufacturer. Error bars indicate SD.
