Expression of mRFP driven by varying sized BjMTP1 promoter sequences in response to Ni²⁺, Cd²⁺ and Zn²⁺ treatment. 48 h metal treated T2 homozygous and null plants were transferred to 0.1× Hoagland's medium with out added metals (arrow) and the accumulation was measured again after 48 h. Metal induced mRFP1 expression and recovery responses were measured by their relative emission fluorescence at 607 nm. Data represents the average (± SD) of three independent replicate samples.
