The isoforms of four different enzymes (i.e. dihydrokaempferol 4-reductase, ec:1.1.1.219; flavanone 3-dioxygenase, ec:1.14.11.9; naringenin-chalcone synthase, ec:2.3.1.74; and leucocyanidin oxygenase, ec:1.14.11.19) controlling flavone and flavonol as well as anthocyanin biosynthesis were mapped (see also Additional file 5).
