In (a), kernels are on the plant being fed on sucrose obtained from photosynthesis. Cellular sucrose (20 μmol∙g−1 FW) and Tre6P levels are high (54 nmol∙g−1 FW) and SnRK1 activity is low, as is the transcription of putative SnRK1 target genes, class II TPS genes, TPP genes, INCW2 and SuSy1.
