From: MeioCapture: an efficient method for staging and isolation of meiocytes in the prophase I sub-stages of meiosis in wheat

Fig. 6

Correlation between length of anthers and meiotic stages in the Chinese Spring genotype of wheat and efficiency of MeioCapture method. Anthers from 0.6, 0.7, 0.8, 0.9, 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2 mm contained meiocytes predominantly at pre-meiotic, leptotene, zygotene, pachytene, diplotene, diakinesis and metaphase I stages respectively; anther length was measured using an ocular micrometer. The purity of meiocytes isolated from each sub-stage of prophase I of meiosis using MeioCapture is shown. For each extraction, the values are expressed as percentage of meiocytes occurring in unique or different stages of meiosis. The values are calculated from an average of 10 replications for each stage. Pm, pre-meiotic; Le, leptotene, Zy, zygotene; Pa, pachytene; Di, diplotene; Dk, diakinesis; Mt., metaphase I
