The roots of 3-week-old WT, atgpdhc2, and OE lines were submerged with water (control), 300 mM mannitol or 150 mM NaCl solution for 24 h, respectively. The expression of each gene in the WT treated with water was used to normalize its transcripts in different lines under different conditions. Asterisks indicated significant differences from the WT by Student′s t-test (*P < 0.05; **P < 0.01)
