Phylogenetic tree of Loliinae subtribe. Phylogeny of subtribe Loliinae with Brachypodium distachyon was used as an outgroup. The tree was constructed from ITS sequence regions of Loliinae species and B. distachyon with PhyML implemented in SeaView [5]. Detailed phylogeny of subgenus Schedonorus is depicted and shows the relationships of fescue and ryegrass species in this lineage (highlighted in light yellow)
