QRT-PCR analysis of seven DEGs involved in sesquiterpenoid and triterpenoid biosynthetic pathway. QRT-PCR was used to validate the relative expression levels of seven selected genes revealed by RNA-seq. The relative expression levels of 1-year old rhizome were considered as controls. The values are representative of three biological replicates. Error bars indicate standard errors of the mean. Asterisks indicate significant differences among 1-, 2- and 3-year old rhizomes based on the t-test (*p < 0.05; **p < 0.01).
