Botrytis inoculation was done by dropping spore suspension (1 × 105 spores/mL) on detached leaves of tomato plants and lesion sizes were measured at 3 days after inoculation on a minimum of 20 leaves in each experiment. At least ten leaves from ten individual silenced or control plants were used for each experiment.
