Colours indicate the different accessions (blue: Cvi; red: Rsch), filled and hatched bars differentiate cold acclimation states (filled: na; hatched: acc). Bars and error bars represent the mean ± SD of relative protein abundance after standardization (zero mean & unit variance, z-score). Means ± SD were built from those ribosomal protein compounds which were identified to contribute strongest to the separation of na and acc samples (see PCA in Fig. 2b and Additional file 4: Table S2; 60S subunit n = 11; 40S subunit n = 12)
